The mainstream media is completely co-opted by its corporate ownership, unwilling to report the news, check the facts,
and simply tell the truth. The only way for Americans to know what's really going on is to access the European press, or
the independent press, or to spend a lot of time reading trustworthy weblogs. Your average American doesn't have time in
the day to do that kind of research. So it's taken five years for average Americans to notice the horse manure than now
covers the country.
The fact that the secret groups, that steer the government, have a long term agenda and that the government lies at any
time about anything and controls the main stream media, it is imperative that all people break out of their cognitive
dissonance and realize that things are not always as they seem nor as common knowledge provides.
The web sites that follow are dedicated to exposing the lies, omissions and disinformation perpetrated by the mainstream media
and used to control you the people by leading you astray. Just remember all that false propaganda in the run up to the Iraq war
was exposed by this site and others like it before the war ever started. How did we know? By reading
the real news here and from real news sites.
"The Press was protected so that it could bare the secrets of
the government and inform the people. Only a free and
unrestrained press can effectively expose deception in
government. And paramount among the responsibilities of a free
press is the duty to prevent any part of the government from
deceiving the people."
-– Hugo Black, Supreme Court Justice
"Our republic and its press will rise or fall together. An
able, disinterested, public-spirited press, with trained
intelligence to know the right and courage to do it, can
preserve that public virtue without which popular government
is a sham and a mockery. A cynical, mercenary, demagogic press
will produce in time a people as base as itself. The power to
mould the future of the Republic will be in the hands of the
journalism of future generations."
-- Joseph Pulitzer, American newspaper publisher
"If we understand the mechanism and motives of the group mind,
it is now possible to control and regiment the masses
according to our will without them knowing it."
-- Edward Bernays, Father of propaganda
"Public sentiment is everything. With public sentiment nothing
can fail. Without it nothing can succeed. He who molds public
opinion is greater than he who enacts laws."
-- President Abraham Lincoln
"The Central Intelligence Agency owns everyone of any
significance in the major media."
-- William Colby, Former Director, CIA
"When you control opinion, as corporate America controls
opinion in the United States by owning the media, you can make
the masses believe almost anything you want, and guide them as
you please."
-- Gore Vidal
"America is a quarter of a billion people totally misinformed
and disinformed by their government. This is tragic but our
media is -- I wouldn't even say corrupt -- it's just beyond
telling us anything that the government doesn't want us to
know."
-- Gore Vidal
"The corporate grip on opinion in the United States is one of
the wonders of the Western world. No First World country has
ever managed to eliminate so entirely from its media all
objectivity - much less dissent."
-- Gore Vidal
"Promote then as an object of primary importance, Institutions
for the general diffusion of knowledge. In proportion as the
structure of a government gives force to public opinion, it is
essential that public opinion should be enlightened."
-- George Washington, Farewell Address, September 19, 1796
"The Greatest Enemy Of Knowledge Is Not Ignorance...
...It Is The Illusion Of Knowledge"
-- Stephen Hawking
"Rather than love, than money, than fame, give me truth."
-- Henry David Thoreau
"We'll know our disinformation program is complete when
everything the American public believes is false."
-- William Casey, CIA Director (first staff meeting, 1981)
"You could get a journalist cheaper than a good call girl, for
a couple hundred dollars a month." - CIA operative discussing
with Philip Graham, editor Washington Post, on the
availability and prices of journalists willing to peddle CIA
propaganda and cover stories. "Katherine The Great," by
Deborah Davis (New York: Sheridan Square Press, 1991)
"The essence of the lie implies, in fact, that the liar is
actually in complete possession of the truth which he is
hiding."
-- Jean-Paul Sartre
"The man who never looks into a newspaper is better informed
than he who reads them; inasmuch as he who knows nothing is
nearer to truth than he whose mind is filled with falsehoods
and errors."
-- Thomas Jefferson
"The fact that an opinion has been widely held is no evidence
that it is not utterly absurd."
-- Bertrand Russell, British mathematician, philosopher
"The main purpose of the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) is
promoting the disarmament of U.S. sovereignty and national
independence and submergence into an all powerful, one world
government."
-- Chester Ward, Rear Admiral and former Navy Judge Advocate
"The CFR, dedicated to one-world government, financed by a
number of the largest tax-exempt foundations, and wielding
such power and influence over our lives in the areas of
finance, business, labor, military, education and mass
communication media, should be familiar to every American
concerned with good government and with preserving and
defending the U.S. Constitution and our free-enterprise
system. Yet, the nation's right to know machinery – the news
media – usually so aggressive in exposures to inform our
people, remain conspicuously silent when it comes to the CFR,
its members and their activities... The CFR is the
establishment. Not only does it have influence and power in
key decision-making positions at the highest levels of
government to apply pressure from above, but it also finances
and uses individuals and groups to bring pressure from below,
to justify the high-level decisions for converting the United
States from a sovereign constitutional republic into a servile
member of a one-world dictatorship."

The corporatist media has become over the years, but especially since 9/11, a very dangerous adversary to We the
People. This institution has the power of the television, the greatest weapon of mass control ever devised, and thus it
possesses the power of influence, of control, and of concocting views and opinions. This adversary, once a bastion of
truth and integrity, has over the years become a tool of corporatism to dictate reality and its version of truth to the
people. It lies and deceives to protect the interests of corporations and the state, and its journalists turned
propagandists do nothing to dispel the rumor that they are nothing but stenographers to those in power. The corporatist
media has over the last six years hidden inconvenient truths from the people, as well as distracted us from reality
through the tele-trash they saturate the airwaves with. By hiding truth now known through the Internet and telling us
the endless lies of the state as if they are sacrosanct its true nature has been exposed for all to see. A greater
adversary to truth and We the People does not presently exist.
The dominant major media have always functioned to achieve what noted Australian academic, author and psychologist Alex
Carey called "taking the risk out of democracy" to "protect corporate power against democracy" by acting as national
thought-control police gatekeepers controlling what information reaches the public and what's suppressed. It's worse
than ever now resulting from virtually uninterrupted media consolidation with friendly Democrat and Republican
administrations allowing five giant global media cartels today to control most newspapers, magazines, radio, television,
book publishing, and films. Other than the internet, they hold a stranglehold over the kinds of news, information,
entertainment and other programming and material most people get from which they form their views of the nation's state,
its government, and the world.
The media giants supplying it are master manipulators. They make sure the public gets their one-sided
corporate/state-friendly views in their role as government/business partners instead of their watchdogs. It's called
censorship, the willful suppression of free expression, ideas and thought in an age of sophisticated mind control
"manufactur(ing) of consent" (see Manufacturing Consent - Edward S. Herman and Noam Chomsky) in a democracy where it
can't be done by force. It's an effort to program the public mind to go along with whatever agenda best serves wealth
and power by effectively suppressing dissent against it.
In 1983, 50 corporations controlled most of the news reporting in the United States. Today ONLY FIVE corporations
control most of the news you watch, hear, or read in the United States. Some of these corporations make weaponry. Some
of them own pharmaceutical stock. Some are owned by friends of the President.
Do you really trust these corporations to service the best interests of the public first? Or do you think they might
choose to service themselves and their friends instead? Check out some of these sites and decide for yourself:
"News is what someone wants to suppress. Everything else is
advertising".
-- Former NBC news prez Rubin Frank
"A press that is hostage to its investors is no more a free
press than one that is hostage to government. Surely, great
universities, and even lesser ones, can understand this."
-- William F. Woo, Visiting Professor of Professional
Journalism at Stanford University
"The news and truth are not the same thing."
-- Walter Lippmann
"The people will believe what the media tells them they believe."
-- George Orwell
"Americans are too broadly underinformed to digest nuggets of
information that seem to contradict what they know of the
world. ... Instead, news channels prefer to feed Americans a
constant stream of simplified information, all of which fits
what they already know. That way they don't have to devote
more air time or newsprint space to explanations or further
investigations."
-- Tom Fenton, former CBS foreign correspondent
"Politicians and the media have conspired to infantilize, to dumb
down, the American public. At heart, politicians don't believe
that Americans can handle complex truths, and the news media,
especially television news, basically agrees."
-- Tom Fenton, former CBS foreign correspondent
"If we understand the mechanism and motives of the group mind,
is it not possible to control and regiment the masses
according to our will without their knowing about it?"
-- Edward Bernays, The father of PR and propaganda
"We are not afraid to entrust the American people with unpleasant
facts, foreign ideas, alien philosophies, and competitive values.
For a nation that is afraid to let its people judge the truth
and falsehood in an open market is a nation that is afraid of
its people."
-- John F. Kennedy
"Media manipulation in the U.S. today is more efficient than
it was in Nazi Germany, because here we have the pretense that
we are getting all the information we want. That misconception
prevents people from even looking for the truth."
-- Mark Crispin Miller
"Expecting FOX News to report real news is about as silly as
waiting for George Bush and Dick Cheney to tell the truth...
Americans care, but it's tough to care when you don't know
what's going on. That ignorance is what the warmakers count
on and what the corporate media delivers."
-- Amy Goodman
"Our job is to give people not what they want, but what
we decide they ought to have."
-- Richard Salent, Former President CBS News.
"Truth has become such a valuable commodity that the government
of the United States and the media use it sparingly."
-- Netctr.com
"Television is altering the meaning of "being informed" by
creating a species of information that might properly be
called disinformation... Disinformation does not mean false
information. It means misleading information - misplaced,
irrelevant, fragmented or superficial information -
information that creates the illusion of knowing something,
but which in fact leads one away from knowing."
-- Neil Postman
"One cannot wage war under present conditions without the
support of public opinion, which is tremendously molded by the
press and other forms of propaganda."
-- General Douglas MacArthur
"fascism - A system of government that exercises a
dictatorship of the extreme right, typically through the
merging of state and business leadership, together with
belligerent nationalism."
-- The American Heritage Dictionary, 1983
"We are grateful to the Washington Post, The New York Times,
Time Magazine and other great publications whose directors
have attended our meetings and respected their promises of
discretion for almost forty years. ... It would have been
impossible for us to develop our plan for the world if we had
been subjected to the lights of publicity during those years.
But, the world is now more sophisticated and prepared to march
towards a world government. The supranational sovereignty of
an intellectual elite and world bankers is surely preferable
to the national auto-determination practiced in past
centuries."
-- David Rockefeller, Bilderberg Meeting, June 1991 Baden,
Germany
"The twentieth century has been characterized by three
developments of great political importance: the growth of
democracy, the growth of corporate power, and the growth of
corporate propaganda as a means of protecting corporate power
against democracy."
-- Alex Carey - Australian scholar on propaganda techniques
"If you tell a big enough Lie, and keep on repeating it, in the
end people will come to believe it."
-- Josef Goebbels, Hitler's propaganda chief
"It is the absolute right of the State to supervise the formation
of public opinion."
-- Josph Goebbels, Nazi propaganda minister
"There is no such thing, at this date of the world's history,
as an independent press. You know it and I know it. There is
not one of you who dares to write your honest opinions, and if
you did, you know beforehand that it would never appear in
print. I am paid weekly for keeping my honest opinions out of
the paper I am connected with. Others of you are paid similar
salaries for similar things, and any of you who would be so
foolish as to write honest opinions would be out on the
streets looking for another job.
"If I allowed my honest opinions to appear in one issue of my
paper, before twenty-four hours my occupation would be gone.
The business of the journalist is to destroy the truth; to lie
outright; to pervert; to vilify; to fawn at the feet of
Mammon, and to sell the country for his daily bread. You know
it and I know it and what folly is this toasting an
independent press. We are the tools and vassals of the rich
men behind the scenes. We are the jumping jacks, they pull the
strings and we dance. Our talents, our possibilities and our
lives are all the property of other men. We are intellectual
prostitutes."
-- New York Press Club in 1880, John Swinton, the former Chief
of Staff at the New York Times "The Dean of His Profession"
"The conscious and intelligent manipulation of the organized
habits and opinions of the masses is an important element in
democratic society. Those who manipulate this unseen mechanism
of society constitute an invisible government which is the
true ruling power of our country.
"We are governed, our minds molded, our tastes formed, our
ideas suggested, largely by men we have never heard of. ...
"Whatever attitude one chooses toward this condition, it
remains a fact that in almost every act of our daily lives,
whether in the sphere of politics or business, in our social
conduct or our ethical thinking, we are dominated by the
relatively small number of persons-a trifling fraction of our
hundred and twenty million-who understand the mental processes
and social patterns of the masses. It is they who pull the
wires which control the public mind, who harness old social
forces and contrive new ways to bind and guide the world."
-- Edward Bernays, The father of PR and propaganda
"Many are those who trade in tricks and simulated miracles,
duping the foolish multitude, and if nobody unmasked their
subterfuges, they would impose them on everyone."
-- Leonardo da Vinci
"The enormous gap between what US leaders do in the world and what
Americans think their leaders are doing is one of the great
propaganda accomplishments of the dominate political mythology."
-- Michael Parenti
"Democracy is not about trust; it is about distrust. It is about
accountability, exposure, open debate, critical challenge, and
popular input and feedback from the citizenry. It is about
responsible government. We have to get our fellow Americans to
trust their leaders less and themselves more, trust their own
questions and suspicions, and their own desire to know what is
going on."
-- Michael Parenti
"The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can
shield the people from the political, economic and/or military
consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for
the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the
truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension,
the truth becomes the greatest enemy of the State."
-- Joseph Goebbels, Reich Minister of Propaganda 1933-1945
"BRAINWASH - to indoctrinate so intensively and thoroughly as to
effect a radical transformation of beliefs and mental attitudes."
--Webster's New World Dictionary
"Psychological Warfare - The use of propaganda or other
psychological means to influence of confuse the thinking,
undermine the moral, of an enemy or opponent."
--Webster's New World Dictionary
"Fear of serious injury alone cannot justify oppression of free
speech and assembly. Men feared witches and burnt women. It is
the function of speech to free men from the bondage of irrational
fears."
-- Justice Louis Brandeis
"The conscious and intelligent manipulation of the organized
habits and opinions of the masses is an important element in
democratic society. Those who manipulate this unseen mechanism
of society constitute an invisible government which is the
true ruling power of our country."
-- Edward Bernays, Propaganda, 1928
"In the councils of Government, we must guard against the
acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or
unsought, by the military-industrial complex. The potential
for the disastrous rise of misplaced power exists and will
persist. We must never let the weight of this combination
endanger our liberties or democratic processes."
-- U.S. President Dwight D. Eisenhower, Farewell address to the
Nation, Jan. 17, 1961, Washington, D.C. (107)
"Unless you become more watchful in your States and check this
spirit of monopoly and thirst for exclusive privileges you
will in the end find that the most important powers of
Government have been given or bartered away, and the control
of your dearest interests have been passed into the hands of
these corporations."
-- President Andrew Jackson, Farewell Address, March 4, 1837 (2)
"I see in the near future a crisis approaching that unnerves
me and causes me to tremble for the safety of my country. . .
corporations have been enthroned and an era of corruption in
high places will follow, and the money power of the country
will endeavor to prolong its reign by working upon the
prejudices of the people until all wealth is aggregated in a
few hands and the Republic is destroyed."
-- U.S. President Abraham Lincoln, Nov. 21, 1864, from a letter
to Col. William F. Elkins (3)
"The CIA is not now nor has it ever been a central intelligence
agency. It is the covert action arm of the President's foreign
policy advisers. In that capacity it overthrows or supports
foreign governments while reporting 'intelligence' justifying
those activities. It shapes its intelligence, even in such
critical areas as Soviet nuclear weapons capability, to support
presidential policy. Disinformation is a large part of its
covert action responsibility, and the American people are the
primary target of its lies."
-- Ralph McGehee former CIA intelligence analyst
"Deadly Deceits: My 25 Years in the CIA"
"The liberty of a democracy is not safe if the people tolerate
the growth of private power to a point where it becomes
stronger than their democratic State itself. That, in its
essence, is Fascism--ownership of government by an individual,
by a group, or any controlling private power."
-- President Franklin D. Roosevelt (76)
"The masters of the government of the United States are the
combined capitalists and manufacturers of the United States."
-- President Woodrow Wilson, address, New York City,
9 September, 1912. (103)
"The masses have never thirsted after truth. Whoever can
supply them with illusions is easily their master; whoever
attempts to destroy their illusions is always their victim."
-- Gustave Le Bon; "The Crowd"
"Behind the visible government there is an invisible
government upon the throne that owes the people no loyalty and
recognizes no responsibility. To destroy this invisible
government, to undo the ungodly union between corrupt business
and corrupt politics is the task of a statesman."
-- Teddy Roosevelt, the 26th President of the United States,
during his 1912 election campaign (104)
"With terror, tyranny came to power, and with terror, it holds
onto its power. The sciences have been subordinated to
authoritarian rule. Biology has been falsified, in order to
externalize the privileges of the propertied classes."
-- Manifesto, Second International Congress of Socialist
Physicians in Brno, Czechoslovakia, 1934 (105)
"Power that controls the economy should be in the hands of
elected representatives of the people, not in the hands of an
industrial oligarchy."
-- Supreme Court Justice William O. Douglas ruling against the
United States Steel Corporation in 1948 (106)
"Merchants have no country. The mere spot they stand on does
not constitute so strong an attachment as that from which they
draw their gains."
-- Thomas Jefferson to Horatio Gates Spafford, 17 Mar. 1817,
cited in Papers 14:221 (1)
"The size of the lie is a definite factor in causing it to be
believed, for the vast masses of the nation are in the depths
of their hearts more easily deceived than they are consciously
and intentionally bad. The primitive simplicity of their minds
renders them a more easy prey to a big lie than a small one,
for they themselves often tell little lies but would be
ashamed to tell a big one."
-– Hitler, Mein Kampf
"It is a quite special secret pleasure how the people around us
fail to realize what is really happening to them."
-- Adolf Hitler
"What good fortune for governments that the people do not think."
-- Adolf Hitler
